Vehicles in Germany's Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Police mentioned they were notified by a resident who found a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Around 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Police state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they stated.

Police then located many other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Officials state initial examinations indicate the substance was probably human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; investigators are not yet informed of any physical harm in connection with the event," they commented.

City officials announced they were working "to unravel the case" and have asked to the community for information.

A senior official said the attack made him without words and had to be resolved quickly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, mentioning the murder of nine people by a assailant targeting residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
